And our league the Junior League of Brownsville is very proud of that historic reputation, but as society changes, we adapt and evolve. We strive to put our venerable values to work in modern ways; demonstrating our pride and perpetuating our legacy by serving as a powerful voice for action, justice and change throughout Brownsville. Together, we are working to empower our members to focus on the welfare of women and children. Brownsville women will lead this important initiative. Will you be one of them?

Become a Driving Force of Change Within Your Community

We accept new members once a year, and our application period is now Open. When new members apply, they are invited to join our provisional class. We will provide them with the tools and information they’ll need to play a crucial role in Junior League of Brownsville’s current community goal of fostering economic, cultural and educational conditions in Brownsville, focusing on the welfare of women and children.

The Brownsville Junior Service League has a current membership of over 70 women who donate over 800 service hours to the community each year. BJSL reaches out to all women who demonstrate an interest and a commitment to voluntarism.

Our class runs from August through May.

Junior League of Brownsville Eligibility Requirements

•  Applicants must be 21 by August 1 to be eligible for membership
• Applicants must reside within Brownsville or surrounding areas.
