Founded in 1939 by Gladys Sam Porter, the Brownsville Junior Service League is the longest-running nonprofit organization in Brownsville. The League is dedicated to strengthening the community and empowering women to lead through service.

This year marks an important milestone as the League transitions to become affiliated with The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., further expanding its impact and commitment to civic leadership.

Serving as President of the Junior League of Brownsville for the 2025–2026 term is a true honor. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside dedicated women who share a passion for service and positive change. I remain committed to leading with integrity and advancing our mission for the benefit of the Brownsville community.
